DIY: Restyling an old dress

Remember a few years ago when there was a style of dresses that looked like top/skirt combos like the one above? Of course I'm sure I really loved this dress when I first bought it from Target but the tank top is getting all worn. Still, I didn't want to get rid of it because the bottom is just so cute. So why be wasteful when you can make a new skirt?
materials: one old dress, pins, sewing machine, scissors.
Step One: Cut off the tank top an inch above where the bottom begins. Step Two: Cut a vertical slit down the side until you reach where the bottom begins. Step Three: Fold down the one inch piece of fabric inside the skirt bottom and pin it down horizontally in the middle (so you don't have to remove them when sewing). Step Four: With a sewing machine sew the folded pieces to the skirt with similar color. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the back.
And you're done! enjoy your new skirt. xoxo. sarah jasmine.
